The Cedar Tree (Eng) or Erez (Heb) or Devadaru (Mal) in Mount Herzl, Jerusalem.

Any one with some basic Biblical knowledge cannot forget the cedar tree of Lebanon. Although cedar is mentioned frequently in Bible, the most famous passages are definitely the ones which describe how King Solomon built the Temple in Jerusalem with cedar woods and where King David and Solomon built their palaces with cedar (2 Sam 5:11; 1 Ki 5:6-10; 1 Ki 7:2; 10:17; 2 Ch 9:16). The cedars are tall "whose height was like the height of the cedars"(Amos 2:9; 2 Ki 19:23); majestic (2 Ki 14:9), and excellent (Song 5:15). Here are links to some nice articles on cedar of Bible.

Here lies buried the fallen soldier's who yielded their precious lives for establishing the modern state of Israel. The officers and privates are buried alongside regardless of their ranks.

Yad VaShem (Memorial and Hand):Israel's National Memorial for the Martyrs and Heroes of Holocaust , Jerusalem.

Holocaust is one of the darkest chapters in Jewish history, well planned and executed by Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler that ultimately resulted in the mass murder of approximately 6,000,000 Jewish men, women and children during the years 1933-1945. Established in 1953, at the foot of Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, Yad Vashem is a 45-acre memorial complex dedicated to documenting the history of the Jewish people during the Holocaust period. Yad Vashem preserves the memory and story of each of the six million victims through its archives, library, school and museums.

The word Yad Vashem is from Bible, "And to them will I give in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name (Yad Vashem) that shall not be cut off” (Isaiah 56:5). Visiting the Yad Vashem museum is generally an emotional and sober experience. Almost every world leaders and dignitaries who pay a visit to Israel pass through its doors. However, unlike other tourist spots, Yad Vashem is not for fun and entertainment. Taking into consideration some of these aspects, children under 10 are not permitted to enter the museum at Yad Vashem. When I arrived Yad Vashem, it was almost closing time and I couldn't venture much. I think I have to keep one whole day separately for Yad Vashem. But I would like to add a few snaps now and promise to take you elaborately through the memorial complex later.
