The Original Shiloach Pool

The remains of this immense pool were first uncovered beneath a drainage channel in 2004 and still excavations are going on. For 1500 years, people believed that the small pool adjacent to the opening of the Hezekiah tunnel was the real Shiloach. Today, archaeologists belive that this pool was built on the remains of the ancient Siloam Pool of 2nd Temple period. One can still see the steps built during Herodian times.
