Lithostrotos: the stone pavement where Jesus Christ was judged by Pilate
"When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha" says the Gospel (John 19:13). The Greek word for Gabbatha is Lithostrotos. It is the spot where Pilate condemned Jesus to death. Today, the pavement is part of a chapel under Ecce Homo Convent. You can see games engraved into these stones supposedly by Roman soldiers 2000 years ago. Please go through the photographs for more details.
