Ein Uzi and Ein Amminadav

Israel is not a land rich with abundant water sources. Hence, from ancient periods people tried to utilize the naturally available water with all the feasible techniques. One way was to exploit underground water systems. It was relatively easy to reach these underground water sources by simply digging the clay-rich rocks that protected them from being exposed. As a result, you find several small pools or springs throughout Israel that are generally referred to Ein (spring) in Hebrew. Many of them are very old and dates more than 2000 years. The following two Ein's are located above a pine-rich hill near the modern village of Even Sapir.
