Khirbet Se'adim

If I am correctly informed, these ruins are from much ancient times. The heavy cylindrical stone structure you see in the middle of the ruins is a crushing stone of an olive press (3P and 4P). Near the ruins stand two very large ancient oak trees. Some speculate that the reason for maintaining oak trees for such a long time links to fertility cults related to some pagan worshiping ritual that prevailed here! Arabs call the site as Khirbet Sa'ida" and the word Sa'ida in Arabic means “a happy woman". According to local legends, the barren were rendered fruitful by the mystical interventions of one Sheikh Ahmed. The site also contains store rooms, stone fences and a Muslim prayer house.
